BLACK VOICES OF NPR
February 17, 2021
Interview with NPR's White House Correspondent, Ayesha Rascoe with and introduction by Senior Publicist, Anaïs Laurent.
I love being an NPR intern.
I got to sit down with not just one, but TWO HU Alumnae, including Senior Publicist Anaïs Laurent & NPR’s White House Correspondent @ayesharascoe
for the third installment of the Black Voices of NPR series.
Truly a conversation I’ll never forget.

BLACK PHOTOGRAPHERS SPEAK FROM BEHIND 'THE BLACK SHUTTER'
March 14, 2021
The newly launched Black Shutter Podcast (@blackshutterpodcast) is already gaining attention in the creative community for its focus on people historically left out of the picture: Black photographers, filmmakers, editors and other like-minded creatives.
"The term 'Black shutter' is how Black photographers see the world," says co-creator Idris Talib Solomon. "So any Black person with a camera has a Black shutter, because you document the world the way that you see it based on your lived experiences."

HE ASKED STRANGERS ABOUT THINGS THEY REGRET NOT SAYING. THE REPLIES WERE CATHARTIC
May 2, 2021
What is something you wanted to say but never did for lack of courage or time?
This question is at the center of a new collection by photographer Geloy Concepcion (@geloyconcepcion). Using responses from his Instagram followers, Concepcion "vandalized" his own archival photos of the Philippines — and later, submitted images — to create "Things You Wanted To Say But Never Did." He's posted more than 1,000 submissions that touch on an array of themes, from love and fear, to loneliness and grief.
